PRETTY HOUSE WEDDING
simcox— wilson A pretty wedding was celebrated at the home of the bride's parents on Saturday, October 19, the bride being Shirley Douglass, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Wilson, Otaki, and the bridegroom, Martm Gwyon, second son of Mr: and Mrs. W Martha Simcox, "Nga Totara, Otaki. The ceremony- was perf ormed by the Rev . J . Gilman Dunn, of Wadestown, Wellington, uncle of the bride. The drawing room was beautifully decorated for the occasion with pink tulips, stocks and cherry blossom, a special feature being a floral wedding bell, which hung over the bridal couple. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an exquisite model frock of soft powder blue, and carried a Victorian posy of deep cream and yellow polyanthus I and forget-me-nots, with a halo of matching flowers in her hair. She was attended by her cousin, Barbara Foster, of Wellington, who wore a frock in a deeper shade of I blue, and carried flowers in the ' same shade as those of the bride. Mr. Eddy Edwards, Otaki, carried out the duties.of best man. Numerous telegrams were received from friends in Otaki and various parts o'f New Zealand. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Wilson, with Mr. and Mrs. Martin Simcox, enteritained a large number of relatives j of both families at an informal | wedding breakf ast. | For travelling the bride chose a smart navy blue coat, with a powder blue hat to match her i frock and navy blue accessories. Mr. and Mrs. Gwyon Simcox later left by car for the North.
