TRADE UNIONS AT TRIESTE
" ITALIANS AM) VI OOSI.AVS TO CONFER Received Friday, 10.45 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 24. Under a pact signed at W.F.T.U. headquarters, the -Italian and Yugosiav trade unions at Trieste will confer before March, 1947, says Reuter's Paris correspondent. The pact provides for, a single joint trade union committee for Trieste. As a preliminary to one union, the conference will be asked to approve the constitution of this union. The Italian and Yugosiav trade unionists, who have been studying the means of improving relations between the workers of both countries, have appeale^ to the Allied military authorities in Trieste to release arrested trade union officials and workers, and thus help to create an "atmosphere of paciftcation."
