MOUTOA DRAINAGE BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING HELD The monthly meeting of thc Moutoa Drainage' Board was held on Monday evening and was presided over by Trustee S. W. Barbei (chairman) . Also present were Trustees E. H. Robinson, W. H, Smith, N. I. Easton and the clerk (Mr. G. V. Fraser) . An apology for absence was received from Trustee G. Cull. A letter-was received from Mr. N; I. Easton relative to the drainage of his and his neighbour's property, but as it did not concern the board the letter was referred back to the writer with the recommendation that he contact the adjoining property owner. The treasurer reported that the bank balance was in credit to the extent of £421 13s 2d. The report was received and accounts amounting to £56 10s lOd were passed for payment. The foreman reported that for the period ten chains of Smith 's outlet drain was completed, finishing this drain in its entirety. The last flood had made the sand. cutting at the outlet of the drain slip badly, but this was now cleared. The flood gates were attended to and dead cattle and a large stump removed.
