BAND APPEAL TOMORROW
LIBERAL RESPONSE HOPED FOR For the first time since it emergetf (rom its war recess early iti the year, the Levin Municipal Band comes to the public tomorrow with an appeal for funds. The band recommenced its activities with pr.accically all new nersonnel, and in ihe weeks which have passed, by hard practice under the able leadership of Mr. G. R. Lester, , it has made splendid progress and is now a very fine combination. The band's effort tomorrow will take the form of a street day. A stall will be set up near th^ post office, where a wide variety of saleable articles will be displayed. Excellent support in donations of produce, etc., has already been .promised by both town and country residents, and the band makes an appeal to the public for further assistance in stocking the stall. Col-. lection boxes will be taken round the streets and it is hoped that there will be a generous response, as funds are greatlv needed.
