WELLINGTON, Oct. 18. After the hearing of claims by vvatefside -workers for an .attendan.ee fee of '34s Wfieii .11.0 wO;rk was available and of claims of 'tlie employers for the •ontinuation of the present system under which 110 payment is made for rattendaiice, tlie Waterfront Industrv Commission adjourned witliout a decision being reaehed 011 the matter. The chairman of the Commission, Mr. Tustice Onglev, said today that tlie Commission was not meeting at present as some membevs were on the West Coast discussing matters affecting conditions at Greymouth and Westport in connection witli the payment for attendancc. The national secretary of tlie Watersiders' Union, Flr. T. Hill, when asked |about the failure of the Commission to agree, had no comment to malie. He said the national executive of the Watersidcrs ' Union would hold a speeial meeting next week to discusp poiicy matters but would not state if tliese ineluded the operation of the Waterfront Commission.
