RAIL DISASTER IN CEYLON
Received Saturdav, 12.15 a.m. COLGMBO, Oet. 18. Four were killed and 17 injured in a niidnight train smash engiiieered by saboteurs in the juiigle 22 miles north of Colombo, says' the. Kxchange Telegraph correspondent. The train leapt t lie track from whicli the wreekers had toru up tishplates. Thrce passenger coaehes were telescoped and goods wagons smashed to pieces. The wrecking is believed to have been perpetrated by supporter.s oi: the Ceylon st rikers. The strike is still spreading and now involves 25,000 workers in a nuniber of kev industries. There have been a number of minor attacks on trains and passengers injured by stones and bottles thrown against the windows.
