British Note to Poland HONOURING OF AGREEMENTS

Received Saturday, 10.30 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 18. Britain expected Poland to carry out the Potsdam and Yalta Agreements, and wnn Unned yeates nau recently sent a note to Poland, setting out the conditions believed es.essential for free elections, said the Parliamentary Under-Secretary to the Foreign Office, Major C. P. Mayhew, answering a question in the House of Commons. He added that Britain believed that political freedom was being denied large and important sections of opinion, narticularly the Polish Peasant Party and Workers' Party. Britain had not yet ratifled the Anglo -Polish financial agree - ment signed in Julv. because it was not yet clear that the Polish Government was fulfilling its obligations.
