1926 STAR IN LOCAL FILM

SCREENING OF WOOLPACKS A keen sense of observation on the part of the cameraman with the Government Film Unit at present operating at Foxton in the production of a film depicting the usages of flax from the primitiva days to the present time, has brought to light an interesting fact. One of the Maori women selected to take part in the preparation of the green leaf, Maori fashion, was Mrs. McGregor. When ,she took up her position alongside Mrs. P. Reihana in the flax swamp for the "shooting" of the preparation of fibre as the Maoris used to do it, she was immediately recognised by the cameraman as the star in the film ."Hinemoa and Tutanekai," taken at Rotorua in 1926.
