PROSPECT OP STRONG FIELD FOR NEW ZEALAND CUP
The best 'stayers in the Dominion are ineiuded among the 67 nominees for the New Zealand Cup this year. It is the biggest and strongest entry in recent years. The nomination of Kindergarten may set the handicapper, Mr. W. P. Russell, somethiug of a problem iu view of the fact that tlie maximum weiglit is 9.7, though he will probably take the view that Kindergarten is uulikelyto returu to anything approaching his best form and rate his half-brother, Golden Souvenir, practically ou even terms. An interesting nouiinee is First Iu, which is being discussed freely at present as a Caulfield and Melbourue Cups possibility. Unless a chauge of plaus lias been made First Iu will be inissiug. Woneri aud Master Dash, which have proycd themselves of good class up to a uiile, aud the promiuent Auckland performers, Cliung Cliohg, Artificer, Balgowan and ilot I'ursuit, have also been nominated. Awaxiuni-trained horses who figure in the list are Laugue d'Or, third last year, Kindergarten, Financial, Crainond Bay, Dileas aud Hakim.
