WELLINGTON, Oet. 15. The Minister in Cliarge of Civil Aviation, Mr. Joiies, stated today that Wing Oommander A. Scott, O.B.E., Dep'uty Controller of Airways in tlie civil aviation branch, had proceeded overseas to represent New Zealand at radio dem onstrations being held in United Kingdoni and U.8.A. and subsequently at meetings of tlie newly establish.ed radio teclmical division of the provisional International Givil Aviation Opganisation to be held at Montfeal on October 30. "Information gained at these iheetings by'Wing Gommander Scott," said tlie Minisfer, "would prove oi great v.alue to New Zealand in bringing up.to date our knowledge of radio aids and the application Of mOderft teehniqueS to aviation. Such information would stlso enable the best use to be made of eomrnunication equipment and navigation aids recently purchased by the Governruent from the United States authori(ies in the Pacific." The Minister added that Wing Commander Rcott, who is an E.N.Z.A.F. officer attached to tlie civil aviatioh branch, had extensive expfirience Of radio and navigational aids as applied to aviation.
