| Pensions Appeals ! A point of interest to servicemen which is not generally known, is that appellants in war pensions cases are provided • with an advocate by their R.S.A. branch at war pensions hearirrgs in Wellington: The Wellington district advocate is -Mr. L. Wr Woolley, secretary of the Wellington branch of the R.S.A. Under this scheme the appellant is able to have his case formulated by his R.S.A. branch, and it is then forwarded to Wellington, saving loss of working time and unnecessary travelling. Each branch of the R.S.A. pays an annual fee to Wellington for this service. Tyre Retredders Kept Busy The lifting of the restrictions on tyre retreading had resulted in a rush by private motorists to have their tyres attended to before the holiday period, said a garage proprietor in Levin yesterday. The majority of the tyres handed in were in a very poor condition, and he was of the opinion that the lifting of the restrictions had come a little too late. Many had not received .attention for over six years and were in very bad shape mdeed. Retreading establishments were working at very higli pressure, but were able to keep up with the demand, and no great delay was being occasioned by the sudden influx which had been steadily mcreasing since the lifting of the restrictions was first announced. He also considered that the quality of the rubber of the newer tyres was of a considerably higher standard than previously.
