WELLINGTON, Oct. 14. A former member of the Labour Pafty, Mr. Herbert Edward Childs, has been selected as the National Parfcv ,candidate for Island Bay. This selection eompletes the 80 candidates. Mr. Childs was born in London. During the first world wai" he served in France. He arrived in New Zealand in 1920 and , joined, the Railwavs Department in 1926 as worksliops machiuery iuspector which position he, still holds.
