Received Mondav, 8.31 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 14. An uneasy cairn prevailed throughout Portugal during the week-end following the attempt by 100 otficers and men from Oporto barracks, to create an uprising a few days ago, says the Daily Telegraph \s Lisbon correspondent. Allhough the "revolt" turned out to be a damp squib, the Government is taking strong steps to prevent further attempts and 3000 arrests have already been made in Lisbon alone. The correspondent adds that a reliable informant told him he believed the Oporto rising premature but a eountrvwide rebellion against the Salazar reginte is planned and may occur at any time, allhough the failnre of the Oporto attempt may delay it.
