The question of adequate remuneration for those employed in taking the poll on the day of the general election, is now rpceiving very careful consideration by the Electoral Department. Fees of £2 10s for deputy returning officers, £1 5s for polling clefks and £1 for ushers, were the rates p§id last general election. They ai;e now under review.
