FAREWELL AFTERNOON
BUSINESS MEN GATHER Several business men of the town gathered on Wednesday afternoon to bid farewell to one of their close associates, in the person of Mr. Frank. Thurston. A delightful afternoon was spent in a friendly chat about old times together. During the afternoon Mr. Creigh mentioned that Mr. Thurston's leaving ' was indeed a loss to the town and wished both he and Mrs: Thurston every happiness in their new home. Mr. Creigh's remarks were endorsed by iMessrs. R. Lind, V. J. Bateman and.J. Curran. Those present at the' gathering were Messrs. Creigh, Lind, Bateman, J. Curran, H. Curran, R. Quinlan, B. Clayton, F. C. Peach and T. S. Downes. . ; • In his brief but fitting reply, Mr. Thurston thanked all for the very pleasant afternoon, also Mr. Curran for everything he had done. He stated that he regretted leaving Shannon brtt- hoped his old friends would call on them in their new home at Plimmerton. Mr. Thurston stated that he had greatly improved in health during the past two weeks since ceasing work.
