Harding; Young Sportsman Passes It is learned with regret that the death occurred in the Palmerston North Hospital, after a brief illness, of a well-known Foxton young man in the person of Mr. Edward (Ted) Simpson, at the age of 28 years. The deceased was wellknown locally, being a member of the Foxton Football Club. Film Unit at Foxton A Government film unit is at present operating at Foxton, making a series of comprehensive pictures, one in technieolour of the phormium industry, commencing with the early Maori usuages of flbre right up to the present -day modern methods as displayed at the New Zealand Woolpack and Textile Company's factory. Championship Golf Local friends and golfers generally will be interested to know that Mr. D. G. Leng-Ward will play off in the flnal of the Manawatu golf championships at the Hokowhitu links next Sunday. Mr. LengWard's opponent will be Mr. N. Amon, of Bulls. The game will commence at 9 a.m. and will continue for about six hours. Mr. LengWard's friends will wish him the very best of luck. Are You on thc Roll? The Manawatu electoral roll has been printed and delivered to the registrar at Palmerston North. There are 12,370 names on it ,and it is anticipated that there will be about 1000 names 4on the supplementary. Copies of the roll are now available for inspection at the post office, and all local residents should take the opportunity to check if their name is included. If not, application should be made to the registrar for inclusion on the supplementary roll. It must be pointed out that it is an offence punishable by a fine not to be on the roll.
