CANADA HEARS ABOUT N.Z. MILK SCHEMES

Interviewed by the Toronto Star, Mr. David Wilson, New Zealaiul Higli Pommissioner, reconimended the New Zealand system of milk distribution as the best for Canada. The newspa])er, which has been advocating niunicipal or other Governmeiitai sale aiul distriluition of miHv after tlie recent three cent price rise to sixteen cents a quart in Ontario, quoted Air. Wilson as saving that milk in Wellington costs nine cents a quart deliverett and distributed free to all school children. As the result of this system New Zealand 's infant death rate was tlie world 's lowest and Wellington 's per eapita consuniption of milk the highesi. The Star also published an interview by long distance telephone with Air. a. L. Bensenien, general-manager of tlie Welling'tou Municipnl Dairy, who ueclared that the people of Wellington would never consider returning tlieir milk distribution to private ownerslnp. He was convinced tiiat niunicipal distribution would reduce tlie price of niilK by three cents a quart in Toronto.
