SHANNON BOWLING CLUB

Mr. E. J. Spencer presided over Messrs. V. J. Bateman, E. J. Gunning, R. Hook, A. F. Birss, S. Morrison, E. T. Wilson, J. T. Bovis, T. Bell, A. R. Mills and F. Edmonds at a general meeting of the' Shannon Bowling Club recently. The opening day of the 1946-47 season was set down for Saturday, October 19. It was agreed that invitations be extended to outside clubs and all intending members to attend. The meeting decided that the club should hold a gala day on the local green on October 13, new members and all interested being invited to be present. It was reported by the secretary (Mr. V. J. Bateman) that a number of clubs were holding their openings on Saturday, October 12, and many invitations had been received. It was decided that members should be circularised, advising those who wished to make the trip to any of the clubs to place their names on the notice board at the clubhouse, or advise the secretary. jThe club is extending an invitation to all womenfolk to visit the croquet greens for a game.
