FINAL MEDAL MATCH PLAYED COURSE RECORD EQUALLED The' competition played by the men's section of the Levin Golf Club' on Saturday was the finai medal round in which 30 members competed. In finalising a round of. which consistency is*a prominent feature, B. J. Eager equalled the course tecord for the 1946 season with a nett 63, and winning the sweepstake played in conjunction with it. Following the clear-cut winner . was another ,-cohsistent player, A. E. Hastedt, who playedi one below his handicap in recording a nett 69, while H. W. S. Walker played to his handicap with a nett 70. The following are the scores from cards handed in: B. J. Wallace 96— 13—83. • Next Week's Match The final official club competition in the men's section is scheduled for play on Saturday afternoon next, when a fourball best ball bogey match is to be played. The draw for play will be at the usual time of 1.5 p.m. Inter-Club Match The final inter-club fixfcure was played during the weekend when 18 members of the Pukerua Bay Club journeyed to Levin. The day proved an admirable- and most enjoyable one, with the home side proving comfortable winners by a margin of 21 games to six. In (welcoming /the visitors, the president of the Levin Club, Mr. H. Buil, said he hoped that these visits would continue, and that inter-club matches between the elubs competing that day would be a feature of future policies of the clubs. Mr. J. Hooper, replying on behalf of the visitors, stated that his team had had a most. enjoyable day's golf, and voiced the opmion that the friendships gained would be well cemented with annual games between the clubs. A feature of the day's ^play was the round played by Martin, a visiting player, who coasted around the locai course with a gross score of 84 and a nett round of 64, thus proving that even . visitors can definitely beat local Colonel Bogey.
