ANNUAL CONVENTION TIMARU, Oct. 5. At the amiual couveution of 'tlie Juuior (.'haiubers of Commerce, the following officers were elected: Fresident, Mr. P. B. Watts (Caaterbury) ; vicepresideuts, Messrs J. Gleunie (Auclcland), R. H. Beaumont (Wellington), B. Williains (Wanganui), A. C. Halligan (Dunedin); directors, Messrs A. H. Winstone and B. R. Pcrry (Auckland), J. 0. Were (Hamilton), H. M: Bodle (Gisl)orne)., D. W. Laing (Palmerston North), R. Salmon (Whangarei), I. Thomson and J. W. Heinemann (Wellington), 1. Hogaa (Hutt Valley), W. Martin (Hawera), S. Jacobs (Canterbury), II. R. Preston (South Canterbury), N. Thomson (Levin), A. T. Wood (Dunedin) and G. M. Porter (New Plymouth), plus executive oiticers exofficio; general secretary, Mr. L. M. Enting (Wellington). It was agreed to recommend affiliated chambers tQ sponsor the promotor of the Lay Tuberculosis Association and to support existing associations. A remit advocating a Dominion-wide course of lectures on the subject of sex for persons between the ages of 18 and. 24r was lost.
