LADY GALWAY GUILD
EXHIBITION OF GARMENTS A beautiful display. of hand worked, knitted and plain garments is at present featured by the Levin branch of the Lady Galway Guild in the window of Mr. Wm-. Davie, ladies' outfitter. • -I For assistance in its work the guild extends thanks to St. John's Methodist Guild, Waitarere Ladies', Kimberley Women's Institute, Kent Street helpers,- Ohau Women's Division and the girls of Horowhenua College. Appreciation is alSo expressed to the guild's many supporters who have forwarded fine knitted twin sets, cardigans, jumpers and infants' wear, and also hand worked garments, andto the many ladies who have helped in the renovation of garments. Window space would not permit the exhib-ition of all the garments that are now ready for. transmission to England to help clothe the needy there, but the guild is greatly indebted to Mr. Davie for the use of his window to enable a display which will give the public some indication of the worthwhile work the guild is accomplishing. The guild is entirely selfsupporting and as the expenses are many, an appeal is again made to citizens of Levin to help their kinsfolk in England who still continue to be desperately short of adequate clothing. Monetary donations will be most acceptable and also articles for sale, and fruit and vegetables. The guild is in need of secondliand clothing, clean but not necessarily mended. At present in the guild's premises, which are the R.S.A. club rooms, for sale at fourpence each are tins suitable for sending biscuits, small cakes or fat overseas, and several small articles. The guild also has for sale one Overbeck's Popular model rejuvenator, complete with attachments, for £5. This may be seen at Mr. C._ S. Keedwell's.
