Personal • ! Mr. Nepia Kapa, of Whakatane, Bay of Plenty, is spending a fortnight or so with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. I. Peni, Vance Street. , Miss Freda Peni and her cousin, Miss Polly Gilmour, have returned after spending a very enjoyable holiday at Matamata, where they were the guests of relatives. Dance Committee Busy All members of the Shannon Badminton Club are hard at work completing preparations for their forthcoming ball. This event is causing a great deal of excitement throughout the district. Such a function has not been seen in Shannon for many years and patrons can be assured of a first class evening's entertainment. One of the added attractions will be Miss Irene Olliver's pupils from Palmerston North, who will entertain. A busy working bee spent a hard evening on Thursday and the decorating of the hall is well in hand. The club extends an invitation to the public to. call in on Sunday afternoon and inspect the hall.
