PUBLIC SERVICE NOMINEE
-Press Assnciation
By Telegraph—
YV .GJ.1J jI-N CrTUiN , UCt. 4. No nomination has yet been made by Ihe New Zealand Public Service Association, of a representative on the new Public Service Commission of three which, it had been indicated, is to be provided for in legislation to be introduced sliortly in substitution of the present control by a commissioner and two assistant commissioners. This was stated today by Air. J. P. Lewin, President of Association, who added all that had been done so far was that the quarterly meeting of the executive officers of the association, plus six exollicio vice-presidents, had been lield to appraise the names and qualifications of the large number of possible nominees. No final deeision had been reaehed and none would be reaehed until legislation was passed, Mr. Lewin added. It would be wrong for the Association to make a nomination until the Govern ment invited the Association for its nominee which the Government would not do until the legislation had been passed. /
