HOUSE-BREAKING PREVALENT

TWO HOMES RANSACKED At the present time house breaking is prevalent in the Paiaparaumu district, two homes having been entered recently. A little over a week ago Mr. Pinkerton's unoccupied house was broken into and last weekend Mr. Uren's dwelling was entered. In both cases the intruder enjoyed a meal before departing. The houses received a thorough ransacking, the contents of drawers and bedding being scattered in all directions in +he rooms. Torches and a rug were removed from Mr. Pinkerton's, but -it is not yet known what was taken from Mr. Uren's.
