TROPHIES REPORTED MISSING

H. AND D. SOCIETY MEETS A meeting of the committee of the Otaki Horticultural and Daffodil Society was held on Thursday night. The president, Mr. E. T. Bartosh, was in the chair and there was a fine attendance. The balance sheet for the last show was submitted by the secretary, Mr. Purvis, and was considered very satisfactory, while the financial position of the society was reported to be sound. - It was decided* to hold a rose show on Tuesday, November 12, and a committee consisting of the president, secretary and Mr. Taylor was appointed to ascertain if the Raukawa Hall would be available for the function. The schedule was carefully considered and alterations made, while it was reported that special prizes of a substantial amount would be available. It was reported that several trophies could hot be located. Mention was also made of the fact that special prizes offered had not been handed over for winners at previous shows. It was decided that enquiries be made in regard to the missing cups, etc. It was agreed to ask Mr. B. V. Cooksley to open the show, and Miss Poole and Mr. Mason to act as judges. It was decided to donate the sum of £10 towards the memorial hall fund. It was resolved that another show should be held in February, but this matter will have consideration later.
