The Berlin trade uiiions organised a ten-minute transport strike this afternooii as a protest against the leniencv of ihe sentences, especially against the acquittals. The strike was orderly and tliere was no intervontion by the Militrirv Government. ' ' At a Press conferenee in Wasnington today President Truman described the Nuremberg verdicts as a good tbing for the world. Questioned about the acquittals, iie declared that he thought the trials had been fair. The Colombian iSeuat'e has decided to appeal to the Allied Control Council for clemency for tlie 11 Nazi leaders sentenced to death. The resolution declared: " Commutation of the death' sentence would gain the admiration of' posterity as a sublime act of generosity. "
