OTAKI FORM REVIEWED

A review of the fields for the Otaki meeting is given below together with a guide to form: —

11.15 —

The opening event at Otaki has not drawn a good field of hack jumpers and Bay Robe would only have to slightly improve on Marton performande to hold good prospects. Greek Dancer's Marton success is well worth remembering as also is that of Foreign Coin who led the hurdles field for 10 furlongs. He is improving as a.hurdler. Gold Claim's poor showing at the Tara-naki-Wanganui meeting was due to soreness and a much bettei showing can be expected tomorrow. Gynerio is the best of the others.

The hrst Euni lviaiaen rtaet should enable Centennial Pride tc improve on last week's fourth. while others -with prospects are Matara, Ide Along, Flak, Bonnic Fair and The Denbigh.

The Pahiko Hack has arawn a good field with that smart sprintei Belle Zorro at the head of the weights. Anywhere near her best Belle Zoro would beat this field, but she may need the race. In the hack seven at the Hawke's Bay meeting Carmelita experienced a poor run down the back, but made up ground smartly in the straight. She should show up to good advanuage. Genghiz Khan followed up two third placings with a good race in the hack six at Marton for fifth. A winning stake for this Tidai gelding is close to hand. Sea Fur;y and Skilled both have good form on f.ViPir sidp

An excellent field will parade for the Ling Memorial with probably The Grand, Behave, Black Plato and Lord Darnley the well-backed section. Although Silver Rod was not seen to advantage at Hastings last weck it was not his true form and I expect him to give a good account of himself tomorrow. Financial has been working well at Awapuni, as also has Barrage, Flahuluk, High Order, Ganges and Ilakim. Zea.ander is likely to start in the sprint. Flahuluk has been working attractively at Trentham and should score at the meeting. Lightweight prospects are Coora:lare and Foxella.

Juaged on recent runmng Crroy Plume should be in strong demand for the second Puhi Maiden Race. Others with prospects are Putere, Horouta, Afton Water, Master Wheriko and Ecstacy.

But for a bad cnecx on one buxu in the hack six at Wanganui Supreme would certainly have taken part in the finish. Rememberifig this, one must consider Supreme's prospects tomorrow in the hack seven excellent. Moutoa 1 Lord"s third at Marton was a good 1 effort. Tremello, a good hack in 1 form, might be forward enough to i make an interesting race of it. i Others with prospects are Iron ! Duke, Gaystock, Hadrian and Rickie,

The sprint, the Hemar Te ao Handicap is very open with the iarge field engaged and the galaxy )f form already displayed. Tutere, rheocritus and Zealander are dkely to dispute favouritism and ^ood races can be expected from chis trio. A number in the field are making their reappearance after long spells such as Master Dash, Deprive and Imperial, all of whom might need a race or two. However, imperial might be more forward Tian the others. Those lower down :he weights with prospects are 3a.lmE Peter Gazelle and Gav Lena.

The linal event, the Taumanuka Hack, should see good efforts from Oock Robin, Tahli, Salut d'Amour, Vlatawene, Grand Ccntral and •NTanaaki. Tahli has been working ittraclively at Awapuni.
