CARD AFTERNOON

During the winter months, the Otaki Ladies' Croquet Club has held several card# parties in aid of club junds. Mrs. Jensen has been hostess three times, Mrs. Cook ..wice, and Mrs. Merwood once. The final party was held on Tuesday last at Mrs. Jensen 's home, when a most enjoyable afternoon was spent at bridge and 500. The reception rooms were gaily decorated with tulips and other spring blooms, and a delicious afternoon lea was provided by lady members. The prize winnefs were: Bridge, Mrs. Silverwood and Mrs. Evans; 500, Mrs. Nairn and Mrs. Merwood. The "lucky dip" fell to Mrs. Guerney, while Mrs. Mattan, a' visifor from Wellington, occupied the iiicky chair. The Otaki Club wishes to ->pecially thank contemporary clubs fcr their co-operation, Mrs. Nicol;on for a cafii donaticn and others who helped in any way to make the gatherings so successful.
