Vital Statistics The vital statistics at Otaki for September were: Marriage notices 11, European births 13, Maori births 3, European deaths 1, Maori deaths nil. . ' Cricket Working Bee Members of _the Otaki Cricket Club are asked to attend , at the domain at 1.30 p.m. on Saturday, and also to be present at a working bee. It is desirable that the playing area be put in good condition and it is, therefore, hoped that the attendance will be good. Scout Exhibition The Boy Scouts of Otaki will stage an exhibition of handcraft at the Railway Hall on Saturday, October 19, when the function will doubtless draw a large crowd. The scouts do excellent work and will have the support of many outsiders who will make exhibits. Schedules are available. There will be prizes tfor writing, art, woodwork, handcraft, needlework, cookery, decorative work, etc. Rainfall in September The rainfall m Otaki for last month was 3.15 inches. The highest fall was 60 points on September 15, and there were fourteen days on which rain fell. There were two frosts and two electrical storms, while snow fell on the ranges on three occasions. It was an avera'ge month. For September last year 3.63 inches were registered for the thirteen days on which rain fell. The rainfall for this month up to 9 a.m. on Thursday was 1.30 inches.
