Tke Japanese are beginning to wor ship General AlacArthur, said Dr. 0. .1 Mann, assistant Bishop of Rochester on his return from a mission to Japan He added that General AlacArthur was a great man and personality. There was no doubt he was doing greai things for the country, becoming a hero among the Japanese. It was im ' pressive to see wonien and children waving freely and Rappily as soldiers pass in jeeps and loi'ries. Dr. Manu added that the Japanese openly blamed their own militarists for the positioi. wherein thev have found themselves Unfortunately they. are slow in return ing to normality. This failure to setth down was one of the most terribh aspects of the situation. The people were dumbfounded by the effeet s ot the atom ljomb but the terrible pound ing of Tokio by persistent bombing seemed to have impressed them more.
