RENOWN THEATRE
Tommy Trinder is the star of Ealing Studio's latest hilarious musical comedy, "Fiddlers Three," which is set at Nero's Court in ancient Rome. A host of wellknown names surround the star, and the lavishness of the production is a remarkable achievement for these days. The story is about two sailors (Tommy Trinder and Sonnie Hale) and a Wren (played by Diana Decker) who become "pixilated" at Stonehenge, and in accordance with an ancient legend, are whisked back to Rome in Nero's days. Francis Sullivan plays Nero, and Frances Day his wife, Poppaea. Hectic adventures and highly amusing scenes follow each other in close succession, including a sidesplitting auction with Sonnie dressed up as an alluring slavegirl. A gigantic orgy is the crowning spectacle of a film singularly rich in fun and Roman games.
