WEDDING AT MANAKAU

A wedding took place recently in the Manakau Methodist Church, the bride being Mavis, younger daughter of Mr.>and Mrs. W. Hazlitt, Manakau, and the bridegroom, Raymond, eldest son of .Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Robinson, Manakau. The Rev. W. B. Pickering officiated. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a graceful gown of ivory satin, the .full skirt falling into a scalloped train, a beautifully embroidered long net veil (lent by her cousin, Mrs. A. Marchant, Palmerston . North) and carried a shower bouquet of white stock, chrysanthemums and winter roses. Leaving the church she was presented with a lucky horse-shoe by her small cousin, Master Ian Alsop, Hastings. In attendance were two bridesmaids, both cousins of the bride, Miss Eva Cotton, Palmerston North, and Miss Margaret Corbett, New Plymouth, wearing matching cream georgette frocks. They carried bouquets of red berries, chrysanthemums and autumn leaves and wore matching sprays in their hair. The church was decorated with flowers. Mrs. J. Horn played the wedding music and Miss Alve, Rangiotu, sang. Mr. Frank Corbett, Manakau, was best man and the groomsman, the bridegroom's brother, Mr. Roy Robinson. A reception was held at Williams' tearooms, Levin. Later in the evening Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Robinson .held a dance in the Manakau Hall in honour of the young couple. For travelling the bride chose a moss green embroidered frock, tan coat and accessories.
