AUCKLAND, Oct. 2. The manager of the Australian Rugby team, Dr. W. H. Ward, in a farewell statement, said: "On behalf of the members of the team I desire to tender Iieartfelt tlianks to the people of New Zealand for their wohderful hospitality and many kindnesses shown to us all. We have travelled nearly 4000 miles within your country and wlierever we have been we have received nothing but the height of friendship. The games have all been most enjoyable and the crowds' generous in their applause to both sides. We particularly desire to tliank Mr. S. S. Dean, the New Zealand Rugby Union and all provincial unions for the efficient manner in which our tour has been condneted. Each one of us will take back to our country kindest memories of New Zealand and its people."
