ON THE LINKS AT BUCKLEY

Ideal weather conditions prevailed at Buckley over the weekend and. there was a good gathering of members on the links both on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.^ On Saturday a stableford competition was played the results being as follows: — F. Picard 38, K.Thomson 37 and H. Stern 33. Sunday's competition took the form of a fourball bogey and those with top cards were F. Picard and J. Chambers six up, H. Stern and E. Wilson five up,W. Stern and C. Stern four up and R. Harding and K. Thomson two up. Further games in the 1946 championships were played over the weekend. In the senior section semi-final F. Picard defeated N. Mabey. Picard will play E. Wilson in the final. In the juniof final C. Stern will play W. Stern and C. Booker will play H. Karena in the final of the C grade. In the match for the "top dogs" titles the holders, F. and V. Picard, succeeded in outpointing C. Young and C. Booker three up and five to play. In the final of the Goldfinch and Cousins' Cup competitions, V. j Picard will play the winner of the I semi-final game yet to be played. I This is between H. Stern and K. Thomson. The handicap committee advise the following reductions in handicaps over the weekend: — F. Picard from 8 to 7, V. Picard from 17 to 15, J. Bell from 26 to 25.
