WLLL1AGIUA, Uet. I. An indicatlon thut from now on the House will be working at an end of sessiou tenipo, was given when the House of Rcpresentatives resuiued today. Mr. Fraser announced tliat, in addition to five Bills on the order paper and five whieh had beeii referred to select couunittees, there were another ^ 19 Bills to be introduced. The Prime Miuister suggested that tlie House should sit until about midnight each day this week except >Sat u rday when the House will sit in the morning and afternoon, resumiug 011 Monday. Many of the Bills were not controversiah yorae were merely routine washing-up Bills but on some of them there was room for a difference of opinion. Mr. Fraser said the list of coming legislation included the Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill, the Finance Bill No. 2, fcltatutes Amendment Bill, Magistrates Court Bill (whieh he lioped miglit be introduced on Thursdav), Cook Islands Amendment Bill (pi'oviding for the setting up of a Council for the Cook Islands), three Bills dealing Avith Maori Trusts, the University of Ctago Council Bill, the Superannuation Amendment Bill (it had proved iinpossible to have a complete overhaul of superannuation legislation this year), the National Provident Fund Aniendmeut Bill, the Shipping and Senmen Amendment Bill (providing for a 4U-hour week for seamen), the Hinergency Regulations Amendment Bill, the Agricultural Eniergency Regulations Coulirmation Bill, the hV tive Furposes Bill, the Reserves Other Lands Disposal Bill, the Loeal Legislation Bill, and the Public Service Amendment Bill (providing for the transfer of temporary public servants to the permanent staff and for the appointmcnt of three Public. Service Commissioners). It was likely that the Veterinary Services Bill would also be introduced if ready in time.
