AUCKLAND, Oct. 1. The rcvival of what will again be the classic yacht race in the southern hemisphere, is being arranged bv New Zea land and Australian yacliting authorities. The Itoyal Akarana Yacht Club has been in communication with the Royal Hobart Regatta Association wliich is willing to sponsor a trans-Tas-man yacht race froin Auckland to Hobart to finish in conjunction with the Hobart regatta on February 4. Arrangements for tlie race are iikely to be on a scale never before contemplated. The Akarana Club, in co-operation with (ko Auckland Amatour Radio Trans-,

witters' Association, will endeavour to equip eacli competing yacht with a smali transmitter capable of maintain ing contact with Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand so that the eourse of each vessel can be plotted and progress reports made of the race. It was stated today that there sliould be larger entries than for previous trans-Tasman yacht races because of the greater knowledge of navigation among yachts men due to wai* training in the Navy and Air Force. The Akarana Club intends arranging a preliminary race from Sydney for Australian boats intending to start in the main race from Auckland.
