TIMARU, Oct. 1. With about 16 inches of snow on the hill eountry in the Fairlie district and lambing just beginning, runholders are suffering grave losses. Six inches of snow fell today and for four days ewes which have lambed or are about to iamb have been denied food and exercise. Unless there is a rapid th-aw many runholders may face disaster.
