STATE OF EMERGENCY IN BOMBAY
Received Tuesday, 10 a.m. BOMBAY, Sept. 30. The Government has declared a state of emer°ency fnr greater Bombay and within the municipal limits of Ahmedabad. It is officially explained that this is necessary because the defence- of l'ndia rules, under whieh the police are at present acting against rioters, expire at midnight tonight.
