Wind Breaks Church Cross
A number of children wno nacr just gone into church had a for-1 tunate escape from serious injury; during the high wind on Sunday morning at Christchurch. They | had been sheltering at the eastern1 md -of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Phillip Street, antj had iust gone into the building, when a gust of wind broke off a solid stone cross immediately ' above where they had been -standing, and at fell 40 feet to the ground. There was no sign of a crack in the cross,' which broke cleanly.
