FINAL GALLOPS AT HASTNGS
SOMJB IMPRESSIVE TRIALS RECORDED. > . HASTINGS, Sept. 20. I'erfect eonditions prcvailed for tlio final gallops at Hastings this morning and there wero soine iiluminating trials on the course proper and plough, which wero both fast. The best seven went to the crcdit of Citatiou, who came right away from Wayside to win their gallop by four lengths in 1.30 1-5, tlie last three in 37 3-5. In an earlier gallop Griffen (MeFarlane) and Silver Ball (Paraniore) rau 1.32, the last five in 05 1-5, while Cairnforth required 1.30 2-6 in beating Ilesleyside. Over the shorter journevs Shining liing was profoundlv impressive in dashing home from the three furlongs in 30 2-5. Hhe finished full of running and may be rnore forward than generally appreciated. Ubbriaco and Erinmore 31). and Royal Cambria (Holland) and Nighteharin 39 2-5 also ran threes. Beckon (Burridge) imprcssed over half a milo with an Inflation gelding in 51 1-5, while Enibrae toolc 52 2-5. Haere Hnkit Impresses. Working on the course proper after breakfast interval when the track became faster the Legatee maiden Haere Mu ku (Mudford) surprised by finishing two lengths ahead of Revivre (McFarlane) over five furlongs in 63, the last three in 37. This effort rather diseounted the 03 3-5 run by Opulent (McFarlane), who was kicked up to tinish three lengths ahead of Blue Moon (Holland), their last three in 37 ?r. Carter Fell (Ash) sluided Comedy Star (Paramore) over five in 64, time wliieh was equalled by Ivol Ragi in beating Conspicuouss, their last three in 38.' Howevor, an even better trial was that of Gay Divorcee, who went oarly when slio lioaded Loquendi in 64 1-5. Gay Divorcee bears a well-trained appearance. St. Lucien beat Tudor f'hief in taking 65. Cinna Ba.v (I'aramoro) was most im? pressive over six furlongs in wliieh she had the moastire of Freneh Connt (Berrigan) throughont. The full distanee toolc 1.16, the last three in 37 3-5. Desert Fox (MeDonald) went well to run 1.16 3-5, coming home very strongly. Matador (McI)onald) displaved his usual brilliance in running 1.17, his first two in 26 1-5. St. Nat and Indian Gold rerorded 1.20. A Smart Sprint. Nothing pleased more on the plough than Marocco (Holland), who recorded 50 for his lialf milo. Ile finished under a nice hold. I)a Vinci had no ditfic-ulty in disposing of Scottish Maid over this distance in 50. He looked well, but the liard traclcs may militate against hira on Saturday. Karaclii and Battle Survey. finished well in running 50 .1-5. No fault can be found with the grey's eondition, but his recent form has been disappointing. Aqueduct (Holland) was finishing on better than Ynrrow (Burridge) in 51, while Perfect Peace came home nicely to record 51]. She may need a race, however. Eoyal Duee returned 51 2-5 and had soxnething in reserve. Other half miles wero Count Bian and Haverer 52, Foreign Gold 52 2-5. There wore several good fives, but nothing impressed more than the English-bred colt Sunburn (Burridge) who drew right away from Trio and Tiobin Dell in 65, their last three in 88 1-5. TI Corona (Markwick), always a good track galloper, ran 65 1-5, time which was equalled by Fighting Nell, who finished elear of Dennv's Gift, S,ilver Rod Works. Dancing Girl (Burridge) had the measuro of Astrope (Dockary) over a smart six furlongs in 1.18 1-5, the last three in 38 2-5. Dancing Girl looks. a niass of solid eondition. Osiris (Gear) ran a- nseful oime round in 1.42. the last six in 1.19. Singing Hills and First Eooting wero partnerod over a once round in 1.45 from a standing start, the last six in 1.19 3-5. Silver Rod and Delinquent worked freely over a round and came home the last tliree in 42. Both loolc improved by their recent racing. - Sigaatoiy (Burridge) ■' went
keenly to seamper home from the two in 25. t Kilmanagh (Saxton) worked steadily over a mile and a quarter and then jumped two hurdles, while Skyhawk,, with his trainer in the saddle, worked under a good hold. He appears to have done well sinee his wiuning run at Wanganui.
