OTAKI FIRE BOARD

The quarterly meeting of the Otaki Fire Board was heid at the fire station on Wednesday night, all members and the secretary being present. An apology for absence was received from Superintendent Sharp. After confirmation of the minutes, accounts amounting to £181 6s 8d were passed for payment. The secretary's financial statement was received and approved. The superintendent's oral report was also approved. It stated that matters were norma!. The suggested closing of the switch at the Otaki Post Office was left to the local committee to attend to. The matter of - a bathroom was left in the hands of Mr. Clarke. It was decided that an extra half-day fortnightly for October, November and December be granted the caretaker, conditional on all the borders in the grounds being cleaned.
