More than half Sydney 's tiniber is being sold on the black market at prices uj) to double authorised rates, said the president of the Master Builders' As sociation, IMr. C. G. E. Paynter, today, He allegcd that big sums of nionev were changing hands without any reeord of transactions. klr. Paynter, who has just completed a survey of the tiniber trade, said tliat some big mills were' working exclusively for Government departments and disregarding priorities. Builders are demanding an inquiry into the position.
