SUPPLYING N.Z. BATTLEDRESS TO BRITAIN
By Telegraph-
WELLINGTON, Sept. 27. The recently-announced nossibility that New Zealand might be asked to supply battledress to the British Army has caused some concern to the New Zealand Retailers' Federation, which polnts out that present supplies of made-up apparel and the trend of local production are such that the federation, while appreciating the possibility of the future export of these goods, feels that serious consideration should be given to the matter before any such request is acceded to at present. The paucity of supplies of all types of men's outer clothing will be recognised bv everyone, the federation states, and it is this angle which causes concern.
