POLICE AND YOUTH IN GUN BATTLE
SYDNEY, Sept. 24. Another fierce gun hattle between the police and a voung gaol escapee took place in dense scruh at thes uhurh of Bexley today. Bullets flew in all direotionp and many detectives narrowly e. eaped being sliot. Finally the youth threw away his eraptv gun and walked out of the serub with his lmnds in the air. The youth was identified as Alexander Henrv Mitchell, aged 16, wlio es eaped from Emu Plains prison farm on September 18.
