CALEDONIAN TENNIS CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING HELD The annual meeting of the Caledonian Tennis Club was held in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Schoolroom last evening. After being in recess during the war' years, the club had made a start again last season and now it appeared its strength would be built up again. A good deal was required to be done to the surroundings of the courts, and it was agreed that a working bee for all members and intending members should commence putting the property in playing order on Saturday, October 5. The opening day for play was fixed for Saturday, October 19, and it was agreed to invite all past members and friends of the club to *ttend the opening of the season's play. The election of office-bearers for the 1946-47 season resulted* as follows: — President: Rev. A. Salmond; vice-presidents: Messrs. J. H. Chapman, D. J. Gardner; secretary: Miss C. Landreth; treasurer: Mr. I. Brash; committee: Misses J. Gibson, D. Brash and M. McCartney, and Messrs L. G. Court, A. Challies and W. Duguid. It was agreed that the season sun from October till April, and that the subscriptions remain at last season's figures, namely, men 17s 6d and ladies 12s 6d, each reducible by 2s 6d if paid by December 31, and juniors 5s. The meeting invited Mr. L. G. Court to be club captain and Miss D. Brash to be vice-captain.
