TWO BOYS BURNT

— -v AUCKLAND, Sept. 23. Two scliool Ixoys suffered burns when a small tin of methvlated spirits ex- : ploded in tlie metal workshops at tne j Avondale Intermedihte High Sehool i this afternoon. Most of it went over Langstone wlio suffered severe burns to the head, t'ace and arnis but the tium.es were soon extinguished by the prornpt action.of A[r. Mart'rn iji taking oft' his laboratory coat and wrapping it tiglit.lv round the boy. Pending the arrival of the ambulance, Langstone was taken.in a.car to the local doetor. Wilson, who suffered burns to the hands and iieck, was attended by some of the ' other boys. On being removed to Auckland ITospital Langstone was admitted but Wilson was scnt home after having his burns dressed. Langstone's conditioa is not- serious.
