President Truinan had )iot asked hira to resign if he would not mainlain silence. Air. Wallace Teplied " absolutelv " to a question whethor he still stood by his recent policy. Air. Wallace declared: "Because I ara an honest rajin." Asked if President Truinan reveaieu anvthiug that made hira feel there was no need for hira to speak up before tne peace eonference emls, Alr. Wallace said: "Alr. Truinan is very conlident of peace with Russia. "
