ON THE LINKS AT BUCKLEY Goifing conditions at Buckley on Saturday for the bogey competltion were good and a fair muster of members was present. The results were as follows: — V. Picard all sq.uare, F. Picard one down, H. Karena two down, H. Stern two down, C. Stern five down, W. Stern four down and J. Stern six down. Otaki v. Buckley On Sunday afternoon an interclub match was played against ! Otaki team. The visitors succeed- , ed in winning by 11 games to [ Buckley's nine. In the fourball [ match the home team won five j games against Otaki's four and two games were halved. Elliott. on behalf of the Otaki Club, thanked Buckley for the most enjoyable day of golf. Mr. J. Mabey replied on behalf of the home team, and congratulated the visitors on their victory. "Top Dog" Competition On Sunday morning a most . interesting game was played in the "top dogs" competition when the holders, F. and V. Picard, met a challenge from B. Harris and T. S. Downes. The challengers, both 28 handicap men, played outstanding golf and were unfortunate in not winning the game. They were one | up on the turn, but were unable to hold their lead and the game resulted in a draw. Next week the Picard Bros. will meet E. Wilson : and N. Birch. Handicap Reductions : ,The handicap committee advise ,that the following reductions have 'been made in handicaps over the week-end: J. Stern from 28 to 27, and V. Picard from 19 to 18.
