E. Bowen) wel;comed- the- visitors. She said. that the Red Cross was anxious to help war brides feel at home in Levin, and she expressed the hope that the acquaintances rnade with members that afternoon would develop into lasting friendships, and that the newcomers would do their part in that respect. On behalf of the society she welcomed .them to Levin. A musical programme followed, interspersed with interes.ting competitions. Mrs. Maher gav.e two very fine pianoforte solos, while Misses Munro. and McDonnell were encored for vocal items. During the afternoon the Mayor, Mr. H. B.
