WORK TO START ON £300,000 RIVER SCHEME

The Manawata Catchment Board at its meeting yesterday decided to instract its engineering' staff to begin' work on the overall survey, and cross-section survey of the land in the alignment of the proposed cut in the Manawatu River from below Wall's Spillway, on the ShannonEoxton highway, to the Whirokino Cut. This will see the start of field work 011 the board's biggest undertaking in river eontrol, estimated to cost nearly £300, 0C0.
